Say hello to our newest business development representative, Quinzel Perry!

Quinzel is no stranger to GovTech. He’s joining Holly after spending over a year with our friends at GovWell, becoming an expert in sales and finding out firsthand just how important it is to connect local governments with the right tools.

Now, he’s putting that expertise to work, ensuring that local governments around the nation are equipped with the best staff and HR agencies can deal with helping humans instead of paperwork headaches.

We sat down with him to ask about his background, what drew him to Holly, and what he could give a TED talk about right now.

What drew you to working for Holly?

In my last company, I learned how improving technology in government can impact real change for internal and external stakeholders. In every organization, the most valuable asset is staff, and I am really excited about helping the public sector make informed decisions about the people who matter most.

What drew you to being a BDR?

I got into sales because I had a really large fear of rejection. I thought I could pay myself to go through exposure therapy to get over it. My perspective on sales and rejection changed dramatically. Kind of cliche, but every rejection is just redirection.

What’s something about your background that might surprise people?

For about two years I taught coding logic to K-12 students at an after school program. I learned how to simplify complex topics, so anyone can digest and the curiosity of my students rubbed off on me.

What are you most excited about your time at Holly?

I have only been here a week, but it’s a really great group of people I get to work with. Additionally, there is a lot of really good early traction. I think Holly can make a really big impact on the lives of public servants.

What are your hobbies outside of work?

I like spending time with my family. I am a big Knicks, Rangers, Giants, and Yankees fan. I geek out on psychology and philosophy. I get really competitive with board games (chess, connect four, scrabble, Catan, and, recently, Uno No Mercy).

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?

Keep the main thing the main thing.

What could you give a TED talk about impromptu?

How Lebron James did more for player empowerment than anyone in NBA history. He made THE DECISION, so they could too…
